SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- DTC codes will set if the ignition is turned ON (II) with the seats removed.
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then write down the audio presets.
2. Tilt the steering wheel all the way up.
3. Detach the side clips and middle hooks (A), then remove the rear riser cover (B).
4. Slide the seat fully to the rear to access the front riser cover.
5. Detach the clip and release the hook (A), and remove the front riser cover (B) from both sides.
6. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
7. Remove the bolts securing the front seat (A), and remove the headrest (B).
8. Tilt the front seat forward and disconnect the side airbag connector (A) and seat wire harness connector (B).
Manual height adjustable seat (driver's): Disconnect the seat belt switch connector (C).
With navigation system: Disconnect the navigation unit connectors (D) and GPS antenna harness connector (E).
NOTE: The 10-way power seat (driver's) is shown; the manual seat (passenger's) and manual height adjustable seat (driver's) are similar.
9. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the front seat mounting bolts before reinstallation.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Tighten the seat mounting bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown. Slide the seat all the way back and tighten (1) and (2), then slide it forward and tighten (3) and (4).
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and navigation system, then enter the audio presets.
- Reset the clock.
- Perform the power window control unit reset procedure.
