DIAGNOSIS

1. Turn both knobs 90 degrees to lock the tonneau cover.

2. With the tailgate still open, push down on the tonneau cover key cylinder to lock it.

3. Flip up the tailgate lock bracket.

NOTE:
Make sure the tailgate lock bracket is not bent or damaged. Compare the shape of the bracket with the bracket shown in step 4.

4. Slowly close the tailgate while noting the alignment between the lock striker and the tailgate lock bracket. The lock striker should contact the angled portion on the tailgate lock bracket. If the striker hits the end of the bracket, as shown, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Lower the tailgate, then turn both knobs 90 degrees to unlock the tonneau cover. Fold up the rear section of the tonneau cover.

2. Use an alcohol pad to clean the areas where the shims will attach. Allow the alcohol to dry.

3. Apply primer to the areas you just cleaned, then wait at least 3 minutes.

NOTE:
Wear gloves to protect your hands.

4. Remove the adhesive backings from the shims, and attach the shims to the areas you primed.

5. Make sure the tonneau cover latch works.
