^ If the software version is 16 13 37, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

^ If the software version is 19 13 37, this bulletin does not apply. Troubleshoot the audio unit using normal troubleshooting procedures.

To exit the diagnostic mode, turn the audio unit off, or turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Start the engine.

2. Make sure the audio unit is not in its diagnostic mode. If it is, turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then start the engine again.

3. Press the LOAD button, and insert the patch CD.

^ The patch CD automatically updates the audio unit in about 5 minutes. Do not touch any of the audio unit buttons during the update.

^ The patch CD updates 45 tracks. The update is complete when the audio unit has loaded all 45 tracks and returns to track one. Eject the patch CD.

NOTE:
The patch CD runs in a continuous loop. After all 45 tracks are loaded, the process begins again. You can safely eject the patch disc any time after the 45 tracks are updated.

4. Turn the engine off. Reset the audio unit by removing the No.23 (10 A) backup fuse from the driver's side under-hood fuse box for 2 minutes, then reinstalling it.

5. Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I) or ON (II).

6. Confirm that the software version is 19 13 37 (see DIAGNOSIS).
