2007 CR-V: MIL Comes On With DTC P0128

REVISION SUMMARY

*Under WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION, the flat rate time was changed because the MVCI updates control modules more efficiently.*

SYMPTOM
The MIL comes on with DTC P0128 (cooling system malfunction).

PROBABLE CAUSE
The PGM-FI software misinterprets sensor inputs as a cooling system malfunction, causing DTC P0128 to be set.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS.

SOFTWARE INFORMATION

HDS Software Version:

2.011.010 (September 2007) or later

Control Module (CM) Update:
Application Version V6.09.04 or later
Database Update 05-SEP-2007 or later

NOTE:

^ The CD with software version 2.011.010 was issued in August 2007 (black label), and again in September 2007 (aqua label). Make sure the HDS is loaded with the aqua CD, not the black CD.

^ An older HDS software version may incorrectly show that the vehicle does not need an update.





The updated PGM-FI software program IDs and P/Ns are shown below. If one of these, ora later program ID, is the current Program ID displayed during the update, the software for this service bulletin is already installed.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS. Refer to Service Bulletin 01-023, Updating Control Units/Modules.
