DTC B1377: Inside Tailgate Switch Circuit Malfunction1. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then back ON (II).
2. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
3. Open the tailgate with the keyless transmitter.
4. Push the inside tailgate switch for more than 2 seconds.
5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1377 indicated?
YES - Go to step 6.
NO - Intermittent failure. The power tailgate system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at the power tailgate control unit connector and at the inside tailgate switch connector.
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Disconnect the 5P connector from the inside tailgate switch.
8. Disconnect the 14P connector from the power tailgate control unit.
9. Check for continuity between the power tailgate control unit connector C (14P) No. 8 terminal and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES - Repair a short in the wire.
NO - Go to step 10.
10. Disconnect the 20P connector from the power tailgate control unit.
11. Check for continuity between the power tailgate control unit connector B (20P) No. 5 terminal and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES - Repair a short in the wire.
NO - Go to step 12.
12. Test the inside tailgate switch.
Is the switch OK?
YES - Go to step 13.
NO - Replace the inside tailgate switch.
13. Reconnect the 5P connector to the inside tailgate switch.
14. With the inside tailgate switch pressed, check for continuity between the power tailgate control unit connector B (20P) No. 5 terminal and connector C (14P) No. 8 terminal.
Is there continuity?
YES - Replace the power tailgate control unit.
NO - Repair an open in the wire.
