Sliding Door Removal/Installation

NOTE:
- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the door.
- Use seat covers to avoid damaging any surfaces.
- Take care not to scratch the center rail and body.
- Take care not to drop and damage the door.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1. Place the vehicle on a firm, level surface when removing and installing the door.
2. Remove the sliding door sill trim.




3. Remove the CESS articulated harness (A) from the floor panel (B).
1. Disconnect the connectors (C).
2. Remove the bolt.
3. Release the hooks (D).

NOTE: Take care not to damage the CESS articulated harness.




4. Remove the bolts, then remove the lower roller plate (A).




5. Remove the bolts, then remove the mid stop (A).




6. Remove the bolts, then remove the open stop (A).




7. Detach the clips (A, B), and cut the double-sided adhesive tape (C) with a utility knife, then remove the upper rail cover (D).




8. While holding the sliding door, remove the bolts securing the center roller (A).




9. Move the door (A) slightly until the lower roller subbase (B) lines up with the notch (C) in the lower rail (D). While holding the door, remove the lower roller subbase from the lower rail through the notch.




10. Hold the bottom of the door (A) away from the body, and gently slide it forward until the upper roller (B) lines up with the notch (C) in the upper rail (D). While holding the door, remove the upper roller from the upper rail through the notch.
11. Remove the sliding door. Take care not to drop the door.




12. Install the door in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Clean the groove portion of each rail, and apply multipurpose grease to the lower roller (A), the moving portion of the lower roller plate (B) and stop spring (C). If equipped with the power sliding door, apply multipurpose grease to the corner portion of the center rail (D), as shown.
- Apply multipurpose grease evenly along the entire length of the lower roller plate.
- Make sure the door opens properly and locks securely.
- Check the door alignment, and if necessary, adjust it.
- Check for water leaks.
