Front Seat Frame ReplacementPassenger's Seat
Calibrate the ODS unit after any of these actions:
- Front passenger's seat replacement (including any seat components)
- Replacement of the seat weight sensors
- After a vehicle collision
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Apply oil to the pivot portions of the slide locks.
- Apply multipurpose grease to the sliding portions of the seat tracks.
- If the side airbag has deployed, replace the seat frame and related parts with new ones.
1. Remove the front seat.
2. Remove these items:
- Front seat-back cover/pad
- Front seat cushion cover/pad
- ODS unit
3. Gently pull out the outer riser cover (A) and inner riser cover (B) by releasing the clips.
4. Remove the clips, then remove the recline inner covers (A) from the seat frame (B), and remove the module holder (C).
5. Detach the harness clips (A), and remove the seat subharness (B) from the seat cushion frame (C).
6. Remove the bolts, and release the seat cushion springs (A) from the hooks (B), then remove the seat cushion frame (C).
7. Remove the seat weight sensor.
8. If necessary, remove the bushings (A, B) from the seat cushion frame (C).
9. If necessary, remove the member cover (A) from the front cushion rear member (B).
10. Install a new seat frame in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the ODS unit connector is plugged in properly.
- Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips and hooks into place securely.
Driver's Seat (Manual Seat)
Calibrate the ODS unit after any of these actions:
- Front driver's seat replacement (including any seat components)
- After a vehicle collision
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Apply oil to the pivot portions of the slide locks.
- Apply multipurpose grease to the sliding portions of the seat tracks.
- If the side airbag has deployed, replace the seat frame and related parts with new ones.
1. Remove the front seat.
2. Remove these items:
- Front seat-back cover/pad
- Front seat cushion cover/pad
- Seat position sensor
3. Remove the clips, then remove the recline inner covers (A), outer upper rail cover (B), inner upper rail cover (C) and the module holder (D) from the seat frame (E).
4. Install a new seat frame in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the ODS unit connector is plugged in properly.
- Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
Driver's Seat (8-way Power Seat)
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Apply oil to the pivot portions of the slide locks.
- Apply multipurpose grease to the sliding portions of the seat tracks.
- If the side airbag has deployed, replace the seat frame and related parts with new ones.
1. Remove the front seat.
2. Remove these items:
- Front seat recline covers
- Front seat-back cover/pad
- Front seat cushion cover/pad
3. Remove the screws, then remove the recline inner covers (A) from the seat frame (B).
4. Gently pull out the outer upper rail covers (A), then detach the clips, and release the hook (B).
5. Detach the harness clips (A) and connector clips (B) to remove the seat subharness (C) from the front seat harness holder (D).
6. Remove the screws (A), and remove the front seat harness holder (B) from the seat cushion frame (C). Remove the bolts (D), and remove the seat cushion frame front the front seat frame.
7. Remove the push nuts (A), and remove the recline covers (B).
8. If necessary, remove the member cover (C) from the front cushion rear member (D).
9. Remove the bolts, then separate the front seat-back flame (A) and seat cushion flame (B).
10. Remove the bolt (A) and push nut (B), then remove the connecting rod (C), rod cover (D), and recline motor (E) from the seat-back flame (F). Release the both lower springs (G) of the lumber support from the seat-back flame.
NOTE:
- Replace the push nut with new ones. Make sure the push nut is installed correctly.
- Apply liquid thread lock to the motor mounting bolt before reinstallation.
11. Remove the nuts, and remove the lumber motor (A). Release the upper springs (B) from the seat-back flame (C), then remove the lumbar support (D) and motor as an assembly.
12. Disconnect the harness connectors and harness band, and remove the driver's seat harness (A). Remove the rear up-down motor (B), front up-down motor (C), slide motor/left side gearbox (D), right side gearbox (E), and seat position sensor (F) from the slide/up-down adjuster (G).
13. Install a new seat frame in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the OPDS unit and motor connectors are plugged in properly.
- Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
