DTC B1205 or DTC indicator H: Climate Control Unit Lost Communication with Gauge Control Module (VSP/NE message)DTC B1206 or DTC indicator K: Climate Control Unit Lost Communication with Gauge Control Module (ECT message)
1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then ON (II).
3. Wait for 6 seconds or more.
4. Do the self-diagnostic with the HDS or climate control unit.
5. Check the DTCs.
Is DTC B1205 or H, and/or B1206 or K indicated?
YES - Go to step 6.
NO - Intermittent failure, check for loose wires or poor connections on the gauge control module and climate control unit circuit.
6. Select UNIT INFORMATION in the BODY ELECTRICAL menu.
7. Select CONNECTED UNIT in the UNIT INFORMATION menu.
Is gauge control module detected?
YES - Substitute a known-good climate control unit, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original climate control unit.
NO - Go to step 8.
8. Disconnect under-dash fuse/relay box connector Q (16P).
9. Disconnect gauge control module connector A (36P).
10. Check for continuity between under-dash fuse/relay box connector Q (16P) No. 6 terminal and gauge control module connector A (36P) No. 20 terminal.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to the gauge control module input test. Gauge Control Module Input Test
NO - Repair open in the wire between the MICU and the gauge control module.
