Parts Marking

To deter vehicle theft, certain major components are marked with the vehicle identification number (VIN). Original parts have self-adhesive labels attached with a break-off bolt. Replacement body parts will have self-adhesive labels, and replacement engine and transmission parts will be stamped with a code for spare parts.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the parts marking labels during body repair. Mask the labels before repairing the part.
