The VTM-4 Indicator Does Not Come On

The VTM-4 indicator does not come on
1. Disconnect the VTM-4 control unit connector A (22P) and B (12P) from the VTM-4 control unit.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. Connect the A14 and B11 terminals of the VTM-4 control unit individually or B11 terminals of the VTM-4 control unit to body ground with a jumper wire, and check the VTM-4 indicator.





Does the VTM-4 indicator come on?
YES - Check for loose terminal fit in the VTM-4 control unit connectors. If it is normal, replace the VTM-4 control unit.
NO - Go to step 4.
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. Connect the B2 terminal of the gauge control module to body ground with a jumper wire, then turn the ignition switch ON (II).





Does the VTM-4 indicator come on?
YES - Repair open in the wire between the gauge control module and the VTM-4 control unit.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the B2 terminal of the gauge control module and the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box. If the wire is good, replace the gauge control module.
