Carpet: Service and Repair

Carpet Replacement

Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *
* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Be careful not to damage the dashboard and other interior trim pieces.

1. Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides
- Rear seat assembly
- Front door sill trim, both sides
- Rear door sill trim, both sides
- B-pillar lower trim, both sides
- Kick panel, both sides
- Center console
- Dashboard center lower cover
- Rear seat leg guide cover




2. Detach the hooks (A), then remove the footrest plate (B).




3. Remove the nut (A), and using a 6 mm socket wrench, release the clip (B), then remove the footrest (C).
4. Remove the carpet (A).
1. Remove the clips.
2. Pull back the rear passenger's area of the carpet.
3. Pull back the carpet from under the dashboard.







4. Pull both seat wire harnesses (B) out through the slit in the carpet.




5. If necessary, remove the screw, then remove the tie-down hook (A) from each side.
6. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Check for damaged or stress-whitened clips, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- Slip the slit in the carpet over the hooks on the rear heater upper duct.
- Push the clips into place securely.
