Seat-back/Seat Cushion
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat covers.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- DTC codes will set it the ignition is turned ON (II) with the seats removed.
1. Remove the front seat.
2. Driver's 10-way power seat: Remove the clip and release the hooks (A), then remove the inner cover (B).
3. Remove the center cover (A).
1. Remove the clip (B), and detach the clip (C).
2. Pull up the cover, then release the hooks (D, E).
4. Driver's 10-way power seat: Remove the center cover (A).
1. Remove the screw.
2. Pull up the cover, then release the hooks (B, C, D).
5. Driver's 10-way power seat: Remove the screw and release the hooks (A), then remove the front cover (B).
6. Remove the recline cover (A).
1. Gently pull out along the bottom to release the hooks (B), then remove the cap (C).
2. Remove the bolts (D), then remove the height handle (E) and screw (F).
3. Remove the recline knob (G) and clips (H), and detach the clip (I).
4. Pull up the cover, then release the hooks (J, K).
7. Driver's 10-way power seat: Remove the recline cover (A).
1. Remove the screws.
2. Pull up the cover, then release the hooks (B, C).
3. Disconnect the recline switch and up-down switch connector (D), lumbar support switch connector (E).
4. Detach the harness clips (F) from the recline cover.
8. From under the seat cushion, disconnect the seat-back heater connector (A) lumbar support switch connector (B) and recline motor subharness connector (C), then detach the connector clip. Detach the side airbag connector clip (D), OPDS/ODS unit connector clip (E), seat weight sensor connectors (F). Release the hook springs (G) and seat cushion cover (H), pull the cover back, and remove the wire ties (I).
9. Remove the seat-back (A).
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Lift the seat-back, then pull the harnesses (B), out through the hole in the seat cushion trim cover.
10. Assemble the seat-back and seat cushion in the reverse order of disassembly, and note these items:
- Check if the clips is damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
- Apply multipurpose grease to the moving parts of the seat track.
- To prevent wrinkles in the seat cushion cover, stretch the material evenly over the pad.
Seat-back

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Replace the push nuts with new ones. Make sure the push nuts are installed correctly.
- Apply low strength type liquid thread lock to the motor mounting bolt before reinstallation.
