Cylinder Head Cover Installation

Cylinder Head Cover Installation

Front
1. Check the spark plug seals for damage. If a seal is damaged, replace it.
2. Clean the head cover contacting surfaces with a shop towel.
3. Set the spark plug seals (A) on the spark plug tubes, and install the cylinder head cover (B).





4. Visually check the spark plug seals for damage.
5. Inspect the cover washers (C). Replace any washer that is damaged or deteriorated.
6. Tighten the bolts in two or three steps. In the final step tighten all bolts, in sequence, 12 Nm (1.2 kgf-m, 8.7 lbf-ft).





7. Tighten the two bolts (A) securing the harness holder.





8. Install the dipstick (B) and Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose (C).
9. Install the three ignition coils to the front cylinder head.

Rear
1. Check the spark plug seals for damage. If the seal is damaged, replace it.
2. Clean the head cover contacting surfaces with a shop towel.
3. Set the spark plug seals (A) on the spark plug tubes, and install the cylinder head cover (B).





4. Visually check the spark plug seals for damage.
5. Inspect the cover washers (C). Replace any washer that is damaged or deteriorated.
6. Tighten the bolts in two or three steps. In the final step tighten all bolts, in sequence, 12 Nm (1.2 kgf-m, 8.7 lbf-ft).





7. Install the breather hose (A) and harness clamp (B).





8. Tighten the two bolts (C) securing the harness holder.
9. Tighten the bolt (D) securing the power steering hose bracket.
10. Install the three ignition coils to the rear cylinder head.
11. Install the intake manifold.
