Leather Seat Covers are Cracking, Paint Sliding, Delaminating, or Peeling
SYMPTOM
The leather seat covers are cracking, paint sliding,
delaminating, or peeling.
PROBABLE CAUSE
An insufficient buffing process and material problem
caused the leather to crack, paint slide, delaminate, or
peel.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the seat-back or seat cushion cover.
PARTS INFORMATION
Use the VIN and the interior color code to find the correct seat cover in the appropriate parts catalog.
WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION
The normal warranty applies.

1. Inspect the leather seat cover material, and compare them to the examples in the next column.If the seat cushion cover and/or the seat-back cover meets these conditions, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
2. These photos below show some examples of leather seat conditions that are not covered under warranty.
If the seat-back and/or the seat cushion cover looks like the seats shown, explain to the customer that this is normal wear and mistreatment.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Replace the seat-back cover and/or the seat cushion cover:
^ Refer to page 20-233 for the front seat-back cover and page 20-247 for the front seat cushion cover of the 2008-12 Accord Service Manual, or
^ Online, enter keywords SEAT COVER, then select Front Seat-Back Cover Replacement or Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement from the list.
