MIL Comes On With DTC P0339 and Possible P0302 and P0303

REVISION SUMMARY
* Under WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION, the flat rate time was changed because the MCVI updates control modules more efficiently.*
SYMPTOM
The MIL comes on with DTC P0339 (crankshaft position sensor [CKP] intermittent interruption). DTCs P0302 and P0303 (No.2 and No.3 cylinder misfire detected) may also be stored.
PROBABLE CAUSE
If the engine is cranked with a low battery, the ECM/PCM may incorrectly judge the crankshaft sensor position.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS, and do the CKP pattern clear and learn procedure.

The updated PGM FI software program IDs and P/Ns are shown below. If one of these, or a later program ID, is the current Program ID displayed during the update, the software for this service bulletin is already installed.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS. Refer to Service Bulletin 01-023, Updating Control Units/ Modules.
2. Select CRANK PATTERN in the Adjustment Menu with the HDS.
3. Select CRANK PATTERN LEARNING with the HDS, and follow the screen prompts.
