Noise From Transmission In D, S, And L
Noise from transmission in D, S, and L
Diagnostic Procedure:
1. Intermediate housing assembly worn or damaged
2. Start clutch defective
3. Input shaft worn or damaged
4. Secondary drive gear or secondary driven gear worn or damaged
5. Final driven gear worn or damaged
6. Planetary carrier worn or damaged
7. Input shaft needle bearing seized, worn or damaged
8. Thrust needle bearing on planetary carrier seized, worn or damaged
9. Thrust washer on planetary carrier seized, worn or damaged
10. Detent lever assembly worn or damaged
11. Park pawl and pawl shaft worn or damaged
12. Park pawl spring worn or damaged
13. ATF pump worn, binding, or foreign material in ATF pump
14. ATF pump chain or ATF pump sprocket worn or damaged
15. Low CVTF level
16. CVTF deteriorated
17. Flywheel assembly defective
Also check for:
- Check the CVTF level, and check the ATF cooler lines for leakage and loose connections. If necessary, clean the ATF cooler lines.
- Check the drive and driven pulley pressure, and lubrication pressure. If the pressure is low or there is no pressure, check the ATF pump, the ATF pump chain, and the ATF pump sprocket.
- Inspect the differential pinion gears for wear. If the differential pinion gears are worn, replace the differential assembly, replace the ATF strainer, and thoroughly clean the transmission, the ATF cooler, and the ATF cooler lines.
- Check the needle bearing and the thrust washers on the planetary carrier for wear and damage. If the needle bearing or thrust washer is worn or damaged, replace the bearing or washer, and adjust the clearance with the thrust shim.
