DTC P0335: Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor No Signal
General Description
Crankshaft position (CKP) sensor consists of a rotor and a semiconductor that detects rotor position. When the engine starts, the rotor turns and the magnetic flux in the semiconductor device changes. The changes of magnetic flux are converted into pulsing signals to the powertrain control module (PCM). The CKP sensor detects injection/ignition timing for each cylinder and engine speed.
If no pulsing signals from the CKP sensor are detected, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.
Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type, OBD Status
Enable Conditions
Malfunction Threshold
No signals from the CKP sensor are input at least 50 times.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for illuminating the indicator
When a malfunction is detected, the D indicator blinks, and the DTC and the freeze frame data are stored in the PCM memory. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The DTC and the freeze frame data can be cleared by using the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
