Symptom Troubleshooting: XM radio display is blank and no station information is displayed
XM radio display is blank and no station information is displayed (with navigation)
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or lose terminals.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. With navigation: Check for the navigation system hard error codes.
Without navigation: Go to step 3.
Are there any DTC's related to the audio or the XM system?
YES - Do the appropriate DTC troubleshooting in the navigation section, and recheck.
NO - Go to step 3.
3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
4. Measure the voltage between body ground and XM receiver connector A (14P) terminals No. 1 and No. 7 individually.
Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the No. 9 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and XM receiver connector A (14P) terminals No. 1 and/or No. 7.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
6. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 11 and body ground.
Is there less than 0.1 V?
YES - Go to step 7.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No 11 and body ground (G551).. Floor Wire Harness (Right Branch) Connector and Harness Locations
7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
8. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 2 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 9.
NO - Substitute a known-good XM receiver, XM Receiver Replacement (With XM Radio) and recheck. If 10 V or more are present, replace the original XM receiver.
9. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
10. Measure the voltage between the audio-navigation unit connector D (14P) terminal No. 2 and body ground.
Is there less than 0.1 V?
YES - Substitute a known-good XM receiver, XM Receiver Replacement (With XM Radio) and recheck. If the symptom goes away, replace the original XM receiver.
NO - Substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit, Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation) and recheck. If 0.5 V or less are present, replace the original audio-navigation unit.
