Steering Hanger Beam Replacement

NOTE:

- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the steering hanger beam.

- Take care not to scratch the dashboard.

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1. Remove the dashboard. Dashboard Removal/Installation

2. Remove these items from the dashboard:
- Driver's dashboard panel Drivers Dashboard Panel Removal/Installation

- Gauge control module Service and Repair

- Shift lever:
- A/T model A/T Shift Lever Removal (A/T)

- M/T model Service and Repair

- Audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation)

- Front passenger's airbag Front Passengers Airbag Replacement

- Audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation)

3. Remove the bolts from the dashboard.

4. Detach the harness clips (A) securing the antenna lead (B) and the hazard warning switch wire harness (C).






5. From the back of the dashboard (A), remove the screws.

6. Disconnect the front accessory power socket connector (B), the auxiliary jack connector (C), the cruise control main switch connector (D).

7. With the help of an assistant, separate the dashboard and steering hanger beam.

8. Install the beam in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the dashboard wire harness is not pinched.

- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.
