Braking Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

Brake Pedal Position Switch Test

1. Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover. Drivers Dashboard Lower Cover Removal/Installation

2. Disconnect the 4P connector (A) from the brake pedal position switch (B).

3. Check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.
- There should be continuity when the brake pedal is pressed.

- There should be no continuity when the brake pedal is released.

4. Check for continuity between terminals No. 3 and No. 4.
- There should be no continuity when the brake pedal is pressed.

- There should be continuity when the brake pedal is released.

5. If necessary, adjust the pedal height Adjustments, or replace the switch.
