Hissing From The Power Steering System/Foaming Fluid

Hissing from the power steering system/foaming fluid

Diagnostic Procedure:

1. Check the fluid level. If low, fill the reservoir to the proper level and check for leaks. [1][2]Power Steering Fluid Leakage Inspection

2. Check the reservoir for leaks.

3. Check for crushed inlet hose or loose hose clamp allowing air into the suction side of the system. [1][2]Power Steering Fluid Leakage Inspection

4. Check the power steering pump shaft oil seal for leaks.

Also check for:

- Air in the P/S fluid
- Fluid contamination
