Glove Box Is Difficult to Open
SYMPTOM
The glove box is difficult to open.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The glove box latch is misadjusted, causing the handle to rub on the glove box.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Adjust the glove box latch, or replace the glove box.

DIAGNOSIS
Open the glove box, and see if the upper part of the handle rubs on the box.
Is the upper part of the handle rubbing on the glove box?
Yes - Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
No - This service bulletin does not apply.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Loosen the two glove box latch screws.
2. Push down on the latch, then retighten the latch
screws.
Does the handle still rub when you open the glove box?
Yes - Go to step 3.
No - Return the vehicle to the customer.
3. Install a new glove box:
^ Refer to page 20-126 of the 2009 Pilot Service Manual, or
^ Online, enter keyword GLOVE, and select Glove Box Removal/Installation from the list.
4. Transfer the original lock cylinder to the new glove box:
^ Refer to page 20-127 of the service manual, or
^ Online, enter keyword GLOVE, and select Glove Box Lock Cylinder Replacement from the list.
