VSA DTC Troubleshooting: 131
DTC 131: Yaw Rate Sensor (Software)
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Check YAW RATE in the VSA DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is YAW RATE S within ±5 °/s?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Check the installation of the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor. Replace the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor. Service and Repair
3. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II).
5. Test-drive the vehicle around a number of corners.
6. Connect the HDS, and check for DTCs with the HDS.
Does the VSA indicator come on, and is DTC 131 indicated?
YES - Go to step 7.
NO - Intermittent failure; the most probable cause is that the vehicle might have spun around on a poor road surface. The system is OK at this time.
7. Substitute a known-good yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor. Service and Repair
8. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then disconnect the HDS.
10. Test-drive the vehicle around a number of corners.
Does the VSA indicator come on, and is DTC 131 indicated?
YES - Replace the VSA modulator-control unit. Service and Repair
NO - Replace the original yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor. Service and Repair
