VSA DTC Troubleshooting: 132

DTC 132: Lateral Acceleration Sensor (Software)

NOTE: If DTC 132 is accompanied with any of the following DTCs, troubleshoot DTC 132 last.

DTC 25: Yaw Rate Sensor (Hardware)

DTC 26: Lateral Acceleration Sensor (Hardware)

DTC 131: Yaw Rate Sensor (Software)

DTC 133: Lateral Acceleration Sensor (Joint Failure)

DTC 134: Steering Angle Sensor

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

3. Test-drive the vehicle in a straight line.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Does the VSA indicator come on, and is DTC 132 indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Intermittent failure; the most probable cause is that the vehicle has been driven on an extreme sloped road. The system is OK at this time.


5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

6. Substitute a known-good yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor. Service and Repair

7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

8. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

9. Test-drive the vehicle in a straight line.

10. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Does the VSA indicator come on, and is DTC 132 indicated?
YES - Replace the VSA modulator-control unit. Service and Repair

NO - Replace the original yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor. Service and Repair
