VSA DTC Troubleshooting: 26

DTC 26: Lateral Acceleration Sensor (Sensor Unit)

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Are DTC 86 indicated with DTC 26 at the same time?
YES - Troubleshoot DTC 86 and recheck.

NO - Go to step 3.


3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

4. Substitute a known-good yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor. Service and Repair

5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

6. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II).

8. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Does the VSA indicator come on, and is DTC 26 indicated?
YES - Replace the VSA modulator-control unit. Service and Repair

NO - Replace the original yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor. Service and Repair
