Tailgate Lower Handle Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.

- Take care not to kink the cable.

1. Swing the tailgate open.

2. Remove the tailgate trim panel.

3. Remove the tailgate lower handle (A).
-1 Detach the cable clip (B).
-2 Remove the nuts securing the lower handle.
-3 Pull out the handle, and disconnect the lower handle cable (C).

4. Install the lower handle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the threaded studs before reinstalling the handle.

- Make sure the lower handle cable is connected securely.

- Make sure the tailgate opens in swing mode properly.
