Starter Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure. Procedures

2. Remove the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) dipstick (A) and radiator hose bracket (B).

3. Remove the harness clamp (C).

4. Disconnect the starter cable (D) from the B terminal, then disconnect the BLK/WHT wire connector (E) from the S terminal.

5. Remove the two bolts holding the starter.






Installation

1. Install the starter (A) using a new gasket (C), then install the harness clamp (D), and connect the B terminal and BLK/WHT wire connector (E). Make sure the crimped side of the B terminal faces away from the starter when you connect it.

2. Install the ATF dipstick (F) and radiator hose bracket (G).

3. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures

4. Start the engine to make sure the starter works properly.
