Navigation Communication Line Circuit Troubleshooting

1. Operate the climate control system in several modes.

Is the climate control system OK?

YES -

Go to step 2.

NO -

Do the self-diagnostic function with the HDS or the climate control unit. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

2. Do the Navi system link, '07-09 models, '10-11 models Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.�

Is the Air-Con or TALK/BACK icon red?

YES -

- If Air-con icon is red, go to step 3.
- If TALK/BACK icon is red, go to "voice control does not work" in the navigation system symptom troubleshooting, '07-09 model '10 model Voice Control Does Not Work/Respond (10 Model).�

NO -

Go to step 11.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

4. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector F (5P) ('07-09 models), or D (12P) ('10-11 models).

5. Disconnect the climate control unit 36P connector.

6. '07-09 models: Check for continuity between the following terminals of the climate control unit 36P connector and audio-navigation unit connector F (5P).









Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 8.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between the climate control unit and the audio-navigation unit.�

7. '10-11 models: Check for continuity between the following terminals of the climate control unit 36P connector and audio-navigation unit connector D (12P).









Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 8.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between the climate control unit and the audio-navigation unit.�

8. '07-09 models: Check for continuity between body ground and audio-navigation unit connector F (5P) terminals No. 2, 3, and No. 4 individually.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the climate control unit and the audio-navigation unit.�

NO -

Go to step 10.

9. '10-11 models: Check for continuity between body ground and audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) terminals No. 5, 6, and No. 12 individually.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the climate control unit and the audio-navigation unit.�

NO -

Go to step 10.

10. Reconnect the climate control unit 36P connector.

11. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector F (5P) ('07-09 models) or D (12P) ('10 model).

12. '07-09 models: Connect audio-navigation unit connector F (5P) No. 2, 3, and No. 4 terminals with a jumper wire.






13. '10-11 models: Connect audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) terminals No. 5, 6, and No. 12 with a jumper wire.






14. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

15. Press and hold the AUTO and OFF buttons.





Does the VENT and HEAT indicator turn on?

YES -

Do the audio-navigation unit check, '07-09 models, '10-11 models Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.�

NO -

Substitute a known-good climate control unit, and recheck. If the symptom goes away, replace the original climate control unit Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation.�
