Low oil pressure indicator stays on

Diagnostic Procedure:

1. Check the engine oil level. Testing and Inspection

2. Do the low oil pressure indicator circuit troubleshooting (Short). Low Engine Oil Pressure Indicator Circuit Troubleshooting (Short)

3. Test the oil pressure switch. Testing and Inspection

4. Check the engine oil pressure. Testing and Inspection

5. Check the oil filter for clogging.

6. Check the oil strainer for clogging.

7. Check the relief valve.

8. Inspect the oil pump. Service and Repair

Also check for:

- A wire shorted to ground between the ECM/PCM and the oil pressure switch
