Automatic Dimming Inside Mirror Test/Replacement

NOTE: With the rearview monitor mirror, refer to the input test for the rearview monitor mirror Rearview Monitor Mirror Input Test/Replacement.

1. Remove the roof console Service and Repair.

2. Disconnect the 3P connector (A) from the automatic dimming inside mirror (B).






3. Check for continuity between terminal No. 3 and body ground.

- If there is continuity, go to step 4.
- If there is no continuity, check for:
- An open in the wire.
- Poor ground (G601) or an open in the ground wire.

4. Measure the voltage between terminal No. 1 and body ground with the ignition switch to ON (II).

- If there is battery voltage, go to step 5.
- If there is no voltage, check for:
- Blown No. 30 (10 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
- Faulty passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box.
- An open in the wire.

5. Measure the voltage between terminal No. 2 and body ground with the ignition switch turned to ON (II) and the transmission shift lever in reverse.

- If there is battery voltage, the mirror harness is OK, replace the rearview mirror.
- If there is no voltage, check for:
- An open in the wire.
- Blown No. 21 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
- Faulty driver's under-dash fuse/relay box (MICU).
- Faulty transmission range switch.
- Poor ground (G101,G102) or an open in the ground wire.
