Rear Entertainment System Symptom Troubleshooting - RES disc does not load

RES disc does not load

NOTE:
* Check the vehicle battery condition first Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
* Discs with labels should not be used in the DVD player unit. They may damage the player mechanism.
* Make sure the disc is compatible with the system (see the Owner's Manual for more information).
* Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Determine possible failure area (disc loading system, others):

-1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

-2. Press the REAR POWER button, and check if the REAR POWER button LED comes on.

Is the REAR POWER button LED come on?
-YES- Go to step 2.
-NO- Go to RES power will not turn on (No information display) troubleshooting.

2. Problem verification:

-1. Try loading a disc.

Does the disc load?
-YES- Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the disc loads normally, but will not play, go to RES disc does not play troubleshooting RES Disc Does Not Play.
-NO- The failure is duplicated, go to step 3.

3. DVD player unit check:

-1. Insert another disc.

Does the disc load?
-YES- The original disc is faulty.
-NO- Replace the DVD player unit Service and Repair.
