Fuel Cap Adapter Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Vehicle Lift

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, and make sure it is securely supported.

2. Rear Wheel





1. Remove the rear wheel.

3. Left Rear Splash Guard (For Removal/Installation)





1. For some models: Remove the screws (A) and the clip (B), then remove the left rear splash guard (C).

4. Left Rear Inner Fender As Needed





1. Remove the screws (A, C), the bolt (B), and the clips (D) securing the left rear inner fender (E), then detach the left rear inner fender as needed.

5. Fuel Pipe Protector





1. Remove the clips (A), then remove the fuel pipe protector (B).

6. Fuel Cap Adapter





1. Remove the fuel cap (A).

2. Detach the hooks (B) from the backside of the rear fender, then remove the fuel cap adapter (C).

Installation

1. Fuel Cap Adapter





1. Install the fuel cap adapter (A) into place. Make sure the hooks (B) snap into place securely.

2. Install the fuel cap (C).

2. Fuel Pipe Protector





1. Install the fuel pipe protector (A). Make sure the clips (B) snap into place securely.

3. Left Rear Inner Fender As Needed





1. Install the left rear inner fender (A), then install the screws (B, D), the bolt (C), and the clips (E). Make sure the clips snap into place securely.

4. Left Rear Splash Guard (For Removal/Installation)





1. For some models: Install the left rear splash guard (A), then install the screws (B) and the clip (C). Make sure the clip snaps into place securely.

5. Rear Wheel





1. Install the rear wheel.

NOTE: Before installing the wheel, clean the mating surfaces between the brake disc/drum and the inside of the wheel.
