Power Door Lock Switch: Testing and Inspection






Door Lock Knob Switch Test

Removal

1. Door Mirror Cover





1. Carefully pry out the door mirror cover (A) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (B), then remove the door mirror cover.

2. With tweeter: Disconnect the connector (C).

2. Front Door Power Window Switch Panel





1. Carefully pry out on the notch (A) in the power window switch panel (B) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (C) and the hooks (D). Disconnect the connectors (E), then remove the power window switch panel.

3. Front Door Panel





1. Carefully pry out on the upper hook (A) in the inner handle cap (B) with the appropriate trim tool, then pull back the inner handle cap to remove it.





2. Remove the screws (A) securing the inner handle (B).





3. Remove the pull pocket mat (A), then remove the screw (B).





4. Starting at the bottom edge of the door panel (A), detach the clips (B) with a commercially available trim pad remover.

5. Starting at the rear, pull the door panel upward.

6. Remove the inner handle (C) from the door panel, then remove the door panel.

4. Rear Door Power Window Switch Panel





1. Carefully pry out on the notch (A) in the power window switch panel (B) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (C) and the hooks (D). Disconnect the connector (E), then remove the power window switch panel.

5. Rear Door Panel





1. Detach the clip (A) and the hooks (B), then remove the rear door quarter inner trim (C).





2. Carefully pry out on the upper hook (A) in the inner handle cap (B) with the appropriate trim tool, then pull back the inner handle cap to remove it.





3. Remove the screws (A) securing the inner handle (B).





4. Remove the pull pocket mat (A), then remove the screws (B).





5. Starting at the bottom edge of the door panel (A), detach the clips (B) with a commercially available trim pad remover.

6. Starting at the rear, pull the door panel up.

7. Remove the inner handle (C) from the door panel, then remove the door panel.

Test

1. Front Door Lock Knob Switch - Test





Driver's door





Passenger's door





1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

3. If the continuity is not as specified, the front door lock knob switch is faulty; replace the front door latch (A).

4. Connect the connector.

2. Rear Door Lock Knob Switch - Test









1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Check the actuator operation by connecting power and ground according to the table.

3. If the continuity is not as specified, the door lock knob switch is faulty; replace the rear door latch (A).

4. Connect the connector.

Installation

1. Rear Door Panel





1. Install the inner handle (A) in the door panel (B).

2. Install the door panel. Make sure the clips (C) snap into place securely.





3. Install the screw (A), then install the pull pocket mat (B).





4. Install the screws (A) securing the inner handle (B).





5. Install the inner handle cap (A). Make sure the upper hook (B) and the lower hooks (C) snap into place securely.





6. Install the rear door quarter inner trim (A). Make sure the clip (B) and the hooks (C) snap into place securely.

2. Rear Door Power Window Switch Panel





1. Connect the connector (A), then install the power window switch panel (B). Make sure the clips (C) and the hooks (D) snap into place securely.

3. Front Door Panel





1. Install the inner handle (A) in the door panel (B).

2. Install the door panel. Make sure the clips (C) snap into place securely.





3. Install the screw (A), then install the pull pocket mat (B).





4. Install the screws (A) securing the inner handle (B).





5. Install the inner handle cap (A). Make sure the upper hook (B) and the lower hooks (C) snap into place securely.

4. Front Door Power Window Switch Panel





1. Connect the connectors (A), then install the power window switch panel (B). Make sure the clips (C) and the hooks (D) snap into place securely.

5. Door Mirror Cover





1. With tweeter: Connect the connector (A).

2. Install the door mirror cover (B). Make sure the clips (C) snap into place securely.
