Front Seat Slide Motor Removal and Installation
Removal
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters and the precautions and procedures Locations before doing repairs or service.
NOTE: Before the front power seat is removed, slide the front power seat to the half-way position, then raise the seat to the highest position.
1. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt
1. Slide the front seat forward fully, carefully pry up on the bottom edge of the anchor cover (A) at the pry point (B) with the appropriate trim tool to release the hooks (C) and the tab (D), then remove the cover by pulling it up.
2. Remove the lower anchor bolt (A).
2. Battery Terminal (SRS) - Disconnection
1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative cable (A) from the battery.
NOTE: Always disconnect the negative side first.
3. Disconnect the positive cable (B) from the battery.
4. Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
3. Head Restraint - Driver's Side
1. Push and hold the knob (A), then pull out the head restraint (B) as shown.
4. Front Seat - Driver's Side
1. Detach the hooks (A), then remove the rear inner seat track end cover (B) and the rear outer seat track end cover (C).
2. Remove the front mounting bolts (A) from the front seat.
3. Remove the rear mounting bolts (A) from the front seat.
4. Disconnect the connectors (A).
5. Detach the harness clip (B).
5. Front Seat Slide Motor
1. Remove the slide motor cover (A).
2. Release the cable housing (A) from the hooks (B).
3. Disconnect the flex cable (C) from the worm gear (D) in the inner seat track by pulling out the cable housing.
4. Disconnect the flex cable from the slide motor (E).
NOTE: Take care not to kink the cable.
5. Disconnect the connector.
6. Detach the harness clip (A).
7. Remove the bolts (B) securing the motor bracket (C) with a TORX T30 bit.
8. Disconnect the slide motor (A) from the short flex cable (B), and remove the slide motor bracket (C) from the slide gearbox bracket (D).
9. Pull out the short flex cable (A) from the worm gear (B).
10. Remove the screws (A), then remove the slide motor (B) from the slide motor bracket (C).
Installation

1. Front Seat Slide Motor
1. Install the slide motor (A) to the slide motor bracket (B) with the screws (C).
2. Install the short flex cable (A) to the worm gear (B).
NOTE: Apply multipurpose grease to the warm gear area.
3. Install the slide motor (A) to the short flex cable (B), and install the slide motor bracket (C) to the slide gearbox bracket (D).
4. Tighten the bolts (A) securing the motor bracket (B) with a TORX T30 bit.
5. Install the harness clip (C).
6. Connect the connector.
7. Install the flex cable (A) to the slide motor (B).
8. Install the flex cable to the worm gear (C).
NOTE: Apply multipurpose grease to the worm gear area.
9. Install the cable housing (D) to the hooks (E).
10. Install the slide motor cover (A).
2. Front Seat - Driver's Side
1. Connect the connectors (A).
2. Install the harness clip (B).
Front Side
Rear Side
3. Install the seat mounting bolts (A).
NOTE:
* Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten them to the specified torque.
* Tighten the seat mounting bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown. Slide the seat all the way back and tighten bolts 1 and 2, then slide it forward and tighten bolts 3 and 4.
4. Install rear inner seat track end cover (A) and rear outer seat track end cover (B). Make sure the hooks (C) snap into place securely.
3. Head Restraint - Driver's Side
1. Insert the head restraint (A) to the seat-back as shown.
4. Battery Terminal (SRS) - Reconnection
NOTE: If the battery performance is abnormal, test the battery.
1. Clean the battery terminals.
2. Connect the positive cable (A) to the battery.
NOTE: Always connect the positive side first.
3. Connect the negative cable (B) to the battery.
4. Apply multipurpose grease to the terminals to prevent corrosion.
5. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt
1. Install the lower anchor bolt.
NOTE: Before installing the anchor bolt, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.
2. Install the anchor cover (A). Make sure the hooks (B) and the tab (C) snap into place securely.
