Front Seat Frame Removal and Installation

Removal

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:
* Steps 1-19 show removing the driver's side, steps 20-35 show removing the passenger's side.

* Before the front power seat is removed, slide the front power seat to the half-way position, then raise the seat to the highest position.

1. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt





1. Slide the front seat forward fully, carefully pry up on the bottom edge of the anchor cover (A) at the pry point (B) with the appropriate trim tool to release the hooks (C) and the tab (D), then remove the cover by pulling it up.





2. Remove the lower anchor bolt (A).

2. Battery Terminal (SRS) - Disconnection





1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).

2. Disconnect and isolate the negative cable (A) from the battery.

NOTE: Always disconnect the negative side first.

3. Disconnect the positive cable (B) from the battery.

4. Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

3. Head Restraint - Driver's Side





1. Push and hold the knob (A), then pull out the head restraint (B) as shown.

4. Front Seat - Driver's Side





1. Detach the hooks (A), then remove the rear inner seat track end cover (B) and the rear outer seat track end cover (C).





2. Remove the front mounting bolts (A) from the front seat.





3. Remove the rear mounting bolts (A) from the front seat.





4. Disconnect the connectors (A).

5. Detach the harness clip (B).

5. Front Seat Armrest





1. Remove the cap (A) with the appropriate trim tool.

2. Remove the center pin (B), the bushing (C), and the washer (D), then remove the armrest (E).





3. Remove the pins (A) from the seat-back.

6. Front Seat Slide Lever - Manual Seat





1. Slide the front seat all the way forward.

2. Release the hooks (A), then remove both seat slide lever springs (B) from the front seat rail (C).





3. Release both sides of tabs (A) from the front seat rail (B), then remove the seat slide lever (C).

7. Front Cover - Power Seat





1. Remove the screw (A), and release the hook (B), the pin (C), and the tabs (D), then remove the front cover (E).

8. Front Seat Height Adjuster Handle - Manual Seat





1. Pull back the cap (A) to release the hooks (B), and remove the screws (C), then remove the height adjuster handle (D).

9. Front Seat Recline Cover - Driver's Side





Power Seat

1. Remove the screw (A), and detach the clip (B).

2. Release the tabs (C).

3. Pull up the recline cover (D) to release the hook (E).

4. Disconnect the connectors.

5. Remove the upper center inner cover (F).

6. Remove the wire harness (G) from the hooks (H), then remove the recline cover.





Manual Seat

1. Remove the recline knob (A).

2. Remove the screw (B), and detach the clip (C).

3. Release the upper hooks (D) of the recline cover (E) from the recline inner cover (F).

4. Release the rear hooks (G) of the recline cover from the recline inner cover.

5. Detach the hook (H) by pulling the recline cover back by hand.

6. Gently pull out the recline cover and remove it.

10. Front Seat Center Cover - Driver's Side





Power Seat

1. Remove the screw (A).

2. Release the tabs (B), then remove the center cover (C).

3. Remove the upper center inner cover (D).





Manual Seat

1. Pull up the center cover (A) to release the tabs (B) from the inner cover (C).

11. Front Seat Cushion - Driver's Side





1. Release the elastic strap (A) from the seat cushion frame springs (B), then pull back the under cover (C) of the seat-back cover.

With Seat Heater





2. With seat heater: Disconnect the connectors (A).

3. With seat heater: Detach the harness clip (B).

4. With seat heater: Pry up the hook (C) of the harness holders (D), then release them from the seat cushion frame springs (E).

Power Seat

5. Release the hook strips (A) from both sides of the seat cushion frame.

6. Detach the clip (B) from the seat cushion frame.

7. Release the hook strips (A) from under the seat cushion.





8. Remove the seat cushion cover/pad (A) from the seat frame (B).

12. Front Seat-Back - Driver's Side

1. Detach the connector clips (A).

2. Detach the harness clips (B).

3. Pry up the hooks (C) of the harness holders (D), then release them from the seat cushion frame springs (E).

4. Disconnect the connectors (F).





5. Release the hook strip (A).

6. Unzip the seat-back cover (B).





7. Release the hook strips (A), and loosen the seat-back cover (B).





8. Detach the harness clips (A).

9. Pull out the harness (B) through the holes (C) in the seat-back cover (D).





10. Release the airbag attachment wires A, B from the seat-back frame (C).





11. Release the hook strips (A) from the seat-back frame (B).

13. Head Restraint Guides - Driver's Side





1. Pinch the tabs (A) on the end of the head restraint guides (B), and remove the guides from the seat-back.

14. Front Seat-Back Cover/Pad - Driver's Side





1. Remove the seat-back cover/pad (A) from the seat-back frame (B).

15. Side Airbag





1. Detach the harness clip (A), then remove the side airbag (B).

16. Front Seat Belt Buckle - Driver's Side





1. Detach the connector clip (A) and the harness clip(s) (B) from under the seat cushion.





2. Remove the center anchor bolt (A), and detach the harness clips (B), then remove the front seat belt buckle (C).

17. Front Seat Lumbar Support





1. Remove the cable band (A) fastening the lumbar support cable (B).

2. Remove the two screws (C) and plate (D).





3. Release the lower wire (A) from both seat-back side frames (B), then remove the lumbar support (C).





4. Release the hook (A), then remove the pin (B).

5. Pull the cover up to release it from the upper hook (C) then remove the power lumbar support motor cover (D).





6. Disconnect the connector and harness clip (A).

7. Remove the nuts (B), and separate the lumbar support motor (C) from the seat frame (D), then remove the lumbar support.

18. Front Seat Slide Motor





1. Remove the slide motor cover (A).





2. Release the cable housing (A) from the hooks (B).

3. Disconnect the flex cable (C) from the worm gear (D) in the inner seat track by pulling out the cable housing.

4. Disconnect the flex cable from the slide motor (E).

NOTE: Take care not to kink the cable.





5. Disconnect the connector.

6. Detach the harness clip (A).

7. Remove the bolts (B) securing the motor bracket (C) with a TORX T30 bit.





8. Disconnect the slide motor (A) from the short flex cable (B), and remove the slide motor bracket (C) from the slide gearbox bracket (D).





9. Pull out the short flex cable (A) from the worm gear (B).





10. Remove the screws (A), then remove the slide motor (B) from the slide motor bracket (C).

19. Front Seat Frame - Driver's Side

Power Seat (side)





1. Detach the hooks (A) and clip (B, C), then remove the side cover (D).

Manual Seat





2. Detach the hooks (A) and clip (B), then remove the upper rail covers (C).

Front Side










3. Detach the hooks (A) and clip (B), then remove the front foot covers (C).

Rear Side





4. Detach the hooks (A), then remove the rear raiser covers (B).

5. Remove the hook(s), then remove the outer recline inner cover (A) and the inner recline inner cover (B) from the seat frame (C).

20. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt - Passenger's Side





1. Carefully pry up on the bottom of the anchor cover (A) at the pry point (B) with the appropriate trim tool to release the hooks (C) and the tab (D), then remove the cover by pulling it upward.





2. Remove the lower anchor bolt (A).
