Rear Seat-Back Frame Removal and Installation

Installation

NOTE: Steps 1-5 show installing the right side, steps 6-11 show installing the left side.

1. Rear Seat-Back Frame - Right Side

1. Install the rear seat-back damper (A) to the rear seat-back frame (B).

2. Connect the rear seat-back head restraint control cable (A), the rear seat-back lock knob control cable (B), the rear seat-back cancel control cable (C), and the rear seat-back arrange control cable (D) to the rear seat-back arrange unit (E), then install the cables to the cable bracket (F).

NOTE: Make sure each cable is connected securely.

3. Insert the cables to the seat-back frame (A) as shown, and install the cable clips (B). The clips snap into place securely.

4. Install the rear seat-back cancel control cable (C) to the bracket (D).

5. Install the rear seat-back arrange unit (E).

6. Install the wire tie (A) to the seat-back frame (B) as shown.

NOTE: Wire tie the cables at the locations marked with tape (C).

7. Install the head restraint control cable (A) to the bracket (B).

8. Install the head restraint control cable to the bracket (C).

NOTE: Make sure the cable is connected securely.

9. Install the rear seat-back head restraint frame (D) and nuts (E).

10. Install the head restraint strap (F), then install the screw (G). Make sure the hooks (H) snap into place securely.

11. Install the rear seat-back cancel control cable (A) through the holes (B) in the seat-back cancel cover (C).

12. Install the seat-back cancel cover. Make sure the hooks (D) snap into place securely.

13. Install the rear seat-back lower cover (E). Make sure the tab (F) snaps into place securely.

14. Install the rear seat-back inner cover (A), then install the screw (B).

15. Install the rear seat-back lower cover (C). Make sure the tab (D) snaps into place securely.

16. Install the seat-back head restraint protector (A). Make sure the hooks (B) snap into place securely.

17. Install the rear seat-back inner trim (C). Make sure the hooks (D) snap into place securely.

18. Install the right rear seat-back outer pivot (A), then install the bolts (B, C).

2. Rear Seat-Back Latch - Right Side

1. Install the rear seat-back latch (A) and the bolts (B).

2. Connect the rear seat-back lock knob control cable (C) and the rear seat-back lock control cable (D) to the rear seat-back latch.

3. Install the rear seat-back lock knob control cable and the rear seat-back lock control cable to the cable bracket (E).

3. Rear Seat-Back Cover - Right Side

NOTE: Replace all of the upholstery rings (A) fastening the seat-back cover (B) to the pad wires (C) with new ones using commercially available upholstery ring pliers (D).

1. Install the upholstery rings (A) securing the rear seat-back cover (B).

2. Install the rear seat-back cover/pad (A) to the rear seat-back frame (B). Make sure the clip (C) snaps into place securely.

3. Zip the rear seat-back cover (A).

4. Install the hook strip (B) into place securely.

5. Install the holes (A) to the hooks (B) of the seat-back inner trim (C).

6. Install the hook and loop fastener (A) into place securely.

7. Install the hook (B) into place securely.

8. Install the rear seat-back cancel control cable (A) to the left rear seat cushion pivot (B), then install the push nut (C).

9. Install the rear seat arrange control cable (D) through the hole (E) in the rear seat-back cover (F).

10. Install the covers (A) to left rear seat pivot (B). Make sure the hooks (C) snap into place securely.

11. Apply oil to the pivot bushing (A).

12. Install the pivot bushing, the left rear seat inner pivot (B), and the washer (C).

13. Install the bolts (D) with a 6 mm hex wrench.

14. Install the strap cover (A). Make sure the hooks (B) snap into place securely.

15. Connect the rear seat-back lock knob control cable (A) to the lock knob trim (B).

16. Install the rear seat-back lock knob control cable to the cable bracket (C).

17. Install the lock knob trim (A).

18. Install the screw (B), while pulling up the lock knob (C).

19. Install the tether anchor cover (A). Make sure the hooks (B) snap into place securely.

4. Rear Seat-Back Latch Cover - Right Side

1. Install the right rear seat latch cover (A). Make sure the hooks (B) and clips (C) snap into place securely.

5. Rear Seat Head Restraint

1. Inspect the knob (A) if it has any of the following damage:

* Any cracks or deformation at the tab (B) of the knob.

* Any cracks or stress-whitening at the tab (B) of the knob.

2. Insert the knob (A) to the head restraint (B) as shown.

3. Install the head restraint.

NOTE: Make sure the head restraint is locked securely. If not, replace the head restraint.

6. Rear Seat-Back Frame - Left Side

1. Connect the rear seat-back head restraint control cable (A), the rear seat-back lock knob control cable (B), the rear seat-back cancel control cable (C), and the rear seat-back arrange control cable (D) to the rear seat-back arrange unit (E), then install the cables to the cable bracket (F).

NOTE: Make sure each cable is connected securely.

2. Insert the cables to the seat-back frame (A) as shown, and install the cable clips (B). Make sure the clips snap into place securely.

3. Install the rear seat-back cancel control cable (C) to the bracket (D).

4. Install the rear seat-back arrange unit (E).

5. Install the wire tie (A) to the seat-back frame (B) as shown.

NOTE: Wire tie the cables at the locations marked with tape (C).

6. Install the head restraint control cable (A) to the bracket (B).

7. Install the head restraint control cable to the bracket (C).

NOTE: Make sure the cable is connected securely.

8. Install the rear seat-back head restraint frame (D) and nuts (E).

9. Install the head restraint strap (F), then install the screw (G). Make sure the hooks (H) snap into place securely.

10. Install the rear seat-back cancel control cable (A) through the holes (B) in the seat-back cancel cover (C).

11. Install the seat-back cancel cover. Make sure the hooks (D) snap into place securely.

12. Install the rear seat-back lower cover (E). Make sure the tab (F) snaps into place securely.

13. Install the rear seat-back inner cover (A), then install the screw (B).

14. Install the rear seat-back lower covers (C). Make sure the tabs (D) snap into place securely.

15. Install the rear seat-back outer cover (A).

18. Install the left rear seat-back outer pivot (A), then install the bolts (B, C).

7. Rear Seat-Back Latch - Left Side

NOTE: Replace all of the upholstery rings (A) fastening the seat-back cover (B) to the pad wires (C) with new ones using commercially available upholstery ring pliers (D).

1. Install the upholstery rings (A) securing the rear seat-back cover (B).

2. Install the rear seat-back cover/pad (A) to the rear seat-back frame (B). Make sure the clip (C) snaps into place securely.

3. Install the head restraint guides (A). Make sure the guides are installed in the seat-back frame securely.

4. Zip the rear seat-back cover (A).

5. Install the hook strip (B) into place securely.

6. Install the holes (A) to the hooks (B) of the seat-back inner trim (C).

7. Install the hook and loop fastener (A) into place securely.

8. Install the hook strip (B) into place securely.

9. Install the rear seat-back cancel control cable (A) to the left rear seat cushion pivot (B), then install the push nut (C).

10. Install the rear seat arrange control cable (D) through the hole (E) in the rear seat-back cover (F).

11. Install the hook strips (A) into place securely.

12. Install the hook and loop fastener (B) into place securely.

13. Install the covers (A) to left rear seat pivot (B). Make sure the hooks (C) snap into place securely.

14. Apply oil to the pivot bushing (A).

15. Install the pivot bushing, the left rear seat inner pivot (B), and the washer (C).

16. Install the bolts (D) with a 6 mm hex wrench.

17. Install the strap cover (A). Make sure the hooks (B) snap into place securely.

18. Connect the rear seat-back lock knob control cable (A) to the lock knob trim (B).

19. Install the rear seat-back lock knob control cable to the cable bracket (C).

20. Install the lock knob trim (A).

21. Install the screw (B), while pulling up the lock knob (C).

22. Install the lower edge of the armrest back panel (A) to the hook strip (B).

23. Install the rear armrest back panel. The hooks (C) snap into place securely.

24. Install the tether anchor cover (A). Make sure the hooks (B) snap into place securely.

9. Rear Seat-Back Latch Cover - Left Side

1. Install the left rear seat latch cover (A). Make sure the hooks (B) and the clips (C) snap into place securely.

10. Rear Seat Armrest

1. Install the collar (A), the inner friction plate (B), and the outer friction plate (C) to the rear seat-back frame.

2. Insert the armrest shaft (A) to the seat-back frame (B).

3. Insert the left pivot shaft (C) to the collar (D).

4. Slide the armrest (E) toward the left side.

5. Install the pivot shaft (A) to the friction plate (B).

6. Slide the armrest (C) toward the right side.

7. Install the bolt (A) with an 5 mm hex wrench to the armrest (B), then install the armrest side cover (C).
