Front Seat Lumbar Support Removal and Installation
Removal
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.
NOTE: Before the front power seat is removed, slide the front power seat to the half-way position, then raise the seat to the highest position.
1. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt
1. Slide the front seat forward fully, carefully pry up on the bottom edge of the anchor cover (A) at the pry point (B) with the appropriate trim tool to release the hooks (C) and the tab (D), then remove the cover by pulling it up.
2. Remove the lower anchor bolt (A).
2. Battery Terminal (SRS) - Disconnection
1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative cable (A) from the battery.
NOTE: Always disconnect the negative side first.
3. Disconnect the positive cable (B) from the battery.
4. Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
3. Head Restraint - Driver's Side
1. Push and hold the knob (A), then pull out the head restraint (B) as shown.
4. Front Seat - Driver's Side
1. Detach the hooks (A), then remove the rear inner seat track end cover (B) and the rear outer seat track end cover (C).
2. Remove the front mounting bolts (A) from the front seat.
3. Remove the rear mounting bolts (A) from the front seat.
4. Disconnect the connectors (A).
5. Detach the harness clip (B).
5. Front Seat Armrest
1. Remove the cap (A) with the appropriate trim tool.
2. Remove the center pin (B), the bushing (C), and the washer (D), then remove the armrest (E).
3. Remove the pins (A) from the seat-back.
6. Front Seat-Back - Driver's Side
1. Release the elastic strap (A) from the seat cushion frame springs (B), then pull back the under cover (C) of the seat-back cover.

2. Detach the connector clips (A).
3. Detach the harness clips (B).
4. Pry up the hooks (C) of the harness holders (D), then release them from the seat cushion frame springs (E).
5. Disconnect the connectors (F).
6. Release the hook strip (A).
7. Unzip the seat-back cover (B).
8. Release the hook strips (A), and loosen the seat-back cover (B).
9. Detach the harness clip (A).
10. Pull out the harness (B) through the holes (C) in the seat-back cover (D).
11. Release the airbag attachment wires A, B from the seat-back frame (C).
12. Release the hook strips (A) from the seat-back frame (B).
7. Head Restraint Guides - Driver's Side
1. Pinch the tabs (A) on the end of the head restraint guides (B), and remove the guides from the seat-back.
8. Front Seat-Back Cover/Pad - Driver's Side
1. Remove the seat-back cover/pad (A) from the seat-back frame (B).
9. Front Seat Lumbar Support
1. Remove the cable band (A) fastening the lumbar support cable (B).
2. Remove the two screws (C) and plate (D).
3. Release the lower wire (A) from both seat-back side frames (B), then remove the lumbar support (C).
4. Release the hook (A), then remove the pin (B).
5. Pull the cover up to release it from the upper hook (C) then remove the power lumbar support motor cover (D).
6. Disconnect the connector and harness clip (A).
7. Remove the nuts (B), and separate the lumbar support motor (C) from the seat frame (D), then remove the lumbar support.
Installation

1. Front Seat Lumbar Support
1. Install the lumbar support motor (A) to the seat frame (B), then install the nuts (C).
2. Connect the connector and harness clip (D).
3. Insert the lumbar support motor cover (A) upward to install it to the upper hook (B).
4. Install the cover to the lower hooks (C) and pin (D). Make sure the hooks snap into place securely.
5. Install the lower wire (A) to both seat-back side frames (B), then install the lumbar support (C).
6. Install the plate (A) and two screws (B) to the seat frame (C).
7. Install the cable band (D) securing the lumbar support cable (E).
2. Front Seat-Back Cover/Pad - Driver's Side
1. Install the seat-back cover/pad (A) on the seat-back frame (B).
3. Head Restraint Guides - Driver's Side
1. Install the head restraint guides (A).
4. Front Seat-Back - Driver's Side
1. Install the hook strips (A) to the seat-back frame (B).
2. Install the airbag attachment wires A, B to the seat-back frame (C).
3. Install the harness clip (A).
4. Install the harness (B) through the holes (C).
5. Install the hook strips (A) to the seat frame.
6. Zip the seat-back cover (A).
7. Install the hook strip (B).

8. Install the connector clips (A).
9. Install the harness clips (B).
10. Install the harness holders (C) to the seat cushion frame springs (D).
11. Connect the connector (E).
12. Install the elastic strap (A) to the seat cushion frame springs (B).
5. Front Seat Armrest
1. Install the pins (A) to the seat-back.
2. Install the armrest (A), then install the washer (B), the bushing (C), and the center pin (D).
3. Install the cap (E) to the armrest.
6. Front Seat - Driver's Side
1. Connect the connectors (A).
2. Install the harness clip (B).
Front Side
Rear Side
3. Install the seat mounting bolts (A).
NOTE:
* Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten them to the specified torque.
* Tighten the seat mounting bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown. Slide the seat all the way back and tighten bolts 1 and 2, then slide it forward and tighten bolts 3 and 4.
4. Install rear inner seat track end cover (A) and rear outer seat track end cover (B). Make sure the hooks (C) snap into place securely.
7. Head Restraint - Driver's Side
1. Insert the head restraint (A) to the seat-back as shown.
8. Battery Terminal (SRS) - Reconnection
NOTE: If the battery performance is abnormal, test the battery.
1. Clean the battery terminals.
2. Connect the positive cable (A) to the battery.
NOTE: Always connect the positive side first.
3. Connect the negative cable (B) to the battery.
4. Apply multipurpose grease to the terminals to prevent corrosion.
9. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt
1. Install the lower anchor bolt.
NOTE: Before installing the anchor bolt, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.
2. Install the anchor cover (A). Make sure the hooks (B) and the tab (C) snap into place securely.
