Exhaust - Revised Exhaust System Gasket

11-078

December 8, 2011

Applies To:
2012 CR-V-Check the iN VIN status inquiry for eligibility

Product Update: Exhaust System Gasket

BACKGROUND

During development of the 2012 CR-V an improved exhaust gasket for the under-floor TWC (three way catalytic converter) was developed Some vehicles were shipped without this improved gasket so you must install a new gasket before the vehicle is sold If you don~ replace the gasket the result may be a squeaking noise and customer dissatisfaction

Do an iN VIN status inquiry to make sure the vehicle is shown as eligible

In addition check for a punch mark above the first character of the VIN (In the 2012 CR-V, the VIN is stamped into the front passenger's floor Pull up the floor mat then pull up on the plastic cover labeled FRAME NUMBER.) A punch mark in that location means this campaign has already been completed

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the under-floor TWC exhaust gasket.
