Dashboard/Steering Hanger Beam Disassembly and Reassembly

Disassembly

1. Inner Vent - Both Sides





1. Carefully pry out the inner vents (A) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (B), then remove the inner vents.

2. Audio-Navigation Unit Assembly (With Navigation)





NOTE:
* Eject the discs before removing the audio-navigation unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.
* If you are replacing the audio-navigation unit, write down the audio presets (if possible), then enter them into the new audio-navigation unit.
* If the audio-navigation unit is replaced or disconnected, Map Matching must be done.
* Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
* Do not work in a dusty or dirty place.
* Discharge static electricity from your body before and during the work.
* Do not touch the circuit board(s) with your bare hands.
* Do not work with dirty hands.
* Do not touch the terminal connector of the flat plate cable with your bare hands (If you have touched it, wipe it off thoroughly.).

1. Remove the bolts.

2. Disconnect the connectors, then pull out the audio-navigation unit (A).

3. Audio Unit Assembly (Without Navigation)





NOTE:
* Eject the CD before disconnecting the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.
* If you are replacing the audio unit, write down the audio presets (if possible), and enter them into the new audio unit.
* Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
* Do not work in a dusty or dirty place.
* Discharge static electricity from your body before and during the work.
* Do not touch the circuit board(s) with your bare hands.
* Do not work with dirty hands.
* Do not touch the terminal connector of the flat plate cable with your bare hands (If you have touched it, wipe it off thoroughly.).

1. Remove the bolts.

2. Disconnect the connectors, then pull out the audio unit (A).

4. Dashboard Center Display Visor Assembly





1. Remove the dashboard center display visor (A).

5. GPS Antenna (For Some Models)





1. Disconnect the connector (A).

2. Remove the screws, then remove the GPS antenna (B).





3. Detach the harness clip (A).

6. Center Display Unit Assembly (For Some Model)





1. Remove the center display unit assembly (A).

2. Disconnect the connectors.

7. Multi-Information Display Unit Assembly (For Some Model)





1. Remove the multi-information display unit assembly (A).

2. Disconnect the connectors, from the multi-information display unit.

8. Sunlight Sensor





1. Using a flat-tip screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, pry up the sunlight sensor (A).

2. Disconnect the sunlight sensor connector (B).

9. Meter Visor Assembly (After Remove Blind Cover)





1. Pull out the dashboard meter visor assembly (A) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (B, C) and the tabs (D), then remove dashboard meter visor assembly.

10. Gauge Control Module




NOTE: Spread a protective cloth on the upper column cover for protect the upper column cover.

1. Adjust the steering column to full tilt down position and to the full telescopic pull position.

2. Remove the gauge control module (A).

3. Disconnect the connector.

11. Driver's Inner Dashboard Trim Panel





1. Carefully pry out the driver's inner dashboard trim panel (A) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (B), then remove the driver's inner dashboard trim panel.

12. Passenger's Dashboard Trim Panel





1. Carefully pry out the passenger's dashboard trim panel (A) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (B), then remove the passenger's dashboard trim panel.

13. Climate Control Panel Assembly (For Some Models)





1. Remove the screws.

2. Disconnect the connector (A), then remove the climate control panel assembly (B).

14. HVAC Control Unit Assembly (For Some Models)





1. Remove the screws.

2. Disconnect the connector (A), then remove the HVAC control unit assembly (B).

15. Outer Vent - Both Sides





1. Remove the screw (A).

2. Pull out the driver's outer vent (B) to detach the clips (C, D), then remove the driver's outer vent.

3. Repeat this step on the opposite side.

16. Glove Box





1. Remove the bolts (A).





2. Release both glove box stops (A) by pushing them in, then let the glove box (B) hang down.





3. Detach the glove box damper hook (A), then remove the glove box (B).

17. Front Passenger's Airbag Assembly





1. Disconnect the front passenger's airbag inflator connector (A) on the dashboard wire harness.

2. Remove the mounting nuts.









3. Gently remove the front passenger's airbag and cover assembly (A).

NOTE: The airbag cover has clips on each side where it attaches to the dashboard.

18. Glove Box Striker





1. Remove the screws (A), then remove the glove box striker (B).

19. Steering Hanger Beam





1. Remove the bolts (A).





2. Remove the screws (A).

Left side





Right side





3. Detach the harness clip(s) (A).





4. With climate control: Disconnect the connector (A).





5. Remove the dashboard (A) from the steering/hanger beam (B).





6. If necessary, remove the screw (A), then remove the center joint duct (B).

7. If necessary, remove the screws (A), then remove the glove box covers (B, C).

Reassembly

1. Steering Hanger Beam

Left side





Right side





1. Install the glove box covers (A, B), then install the screws (C).





2. Install the center joint duct (A), then install the screw (B).





3. Install the dashboard (A) to the steering hanger beam (B).





4. With climate control: Connect the connector (A).

Left side

5. Install the harness clip(s) (A).





6. Install the screws (A).





7. Install the bolts (A).

2. Glove Box Striker





1. Install the glove box striker (A), then install the screws (B).

3. Front Passenger's Airbag Assembly





1. Place the front passenger's airbag and cover as an assembly (A) into the dashboard.

2. Tighten the front passenger's airbag new mounting nuts.





3. Connect the front passenger's airbag inflator connector (A) on the dashboard wire harness.

4. Glove Box





1. Install the glove box (A), then install the glove box damper hook (B).





2. Install the bolts (A).

5. Outer Vent - Both Sides





1. Install the outer vent (A), then install the screw (B). Make sure the clips (C, D) snap into place securely.

2. Repeat this step on the opposite side.

6. HVAC Control Unit Assembly (For Some Models)





1. Connect the connector (A), then install the HVAC control unit assembly (B).

2. Install the screws.

7. Climate Control Panel Assembly (For Some Models)





1. Connect the connector (A), then install the climate control panel assembly (B).

2. Install the screws.

8. Passenger's Dashboard Trim Panel





1. Install the passenger's dashboard trim panel (A). Make sure the clips (B) snap into place securely.

9. Driver's Inner Dashboard Trim Panel





1. Install the driver's inner dashboard trim panel (A). Make sure the clips (B) snap into place securely.

10. Gauge Control Module





NOTE: Spread a protective cloth on the upper column cover for protect the upper column cover.

1. Connect the connector.

2. Install the gauge control module (A).

11. Meter Visor Assembly (After Remove Blind Cover)





1. Install the dashboard meter visor assembly (A). Make sure the clips (B, C) and the tabs (D) snap into place securely.

12. Sunlight Sensor





1. Connect the sunlight sensor connector (A).

2. Install the sunlight sensor (B).

13. Multi-Information Display Unit (For Some Model)





1. Connect the connectors.

2. Install the multi-information display unit assembly (A).

14. Center Display Unit Assembly (For Some Model)





1. Connect the connectors.

2. Install the center display unit assembly (A).

15. GPS Antenna (For Some Models)





1. Install the harness clip (A).





2. Install the GPS antenna (A), then install the screws.

3. Connect the connector (B).

16. Dashboard Center Display Visor Assembly





1. Install the dashboard center display visor (A).

17. Audio Unit Assembly (Without Navigation)





1. Connect the connectors, then install the audio unit (A).

NOTE: Make sure all the connectors and the antenna lead are secure.

2. Install the bolts (B).

NOTE: If the audio unit was replaced, enter the audio presets that you saved onto the new unit.

18. Navigation Unit Assembly (With Navigation)





1. Connect the connectors, then install the audio-navigation unit (A).

NOTE: Make sure all the connectors and the antenna lead are secure.

2. Install the bolts (B).

19. Inner Vent - Both Sides





1. Install the inner vents (A). Make sure the clips (B) snap into place securely.
