Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation
Removal
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.
1. Battery Terminal (SRS) - Disconnection
1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative cable (A) from the battery.
NOTE: Always disconnect the negative side first.
3. Disconnect the positive cable (B) from the battery.
4. Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
2. Driver's Dashboard Undercover
1. Turn the lock knob (A) 90 °, then gently pull down the front edge of the driver's dashboard undercover (B) to detach the clip (C).
2. Pull away the undercover to release the pin (D) from the holder (E), then remove the driver's dashboard undercover.
3. Driver's Dashboard Panel Assembly
1. Carefully pry out the driver's dashboard panel assembly (A) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (B).
2. Disconnect the connector (C), then remove the driver's dashboard panel assembly.
4. Driver's Dashboard Lower Cover
1. Carefully pry out the driver's dashboard lower cover (A) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (B).
2. Disconnect the connector (C), then remove the driver's dashboard lower cover.
5. Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box
1. Disconnect the connectors from the fuse side of the under-dash fuse/relay box (A).
2. Detach the under-dash fuse/relay box.
3. Disconnect the connectors from the back side of the under-dash fuse/relay box, then remove the under-dash fuse/relay box.
4. Carefully remove the relays using a relay puller.
NOTE: Do not use pliers. Pliers will damage the relays, which could cause the engine to stall or not start or cause other functions to fail.
6. Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box - Canada models
1. Disconnect the connectors from the fuse side of the under-dash fuse/relay box (A).
2. Remove the covers (B) from the under-dash fuse/relay box.
3. Detach the under-dash fuse/relay box.
4. Disconnect the connectors from the back side of the under-dash fuse/relay box, then remove the under-dash fuse/relay box.
5. Carefully remove the relays using a relay puller.
NOTE: Do not use pliers. Pliers will damage the relays, which could cause the engine to stall or not start or cause other functions to fail.
Installation

1. Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box - Canada models
NOTE: The imoes unit is built into the MICU, which is part of the under-dash fuse/relay box. Because of this construction, the imoes must be registered, or the vehicle will not start.
1. Install the relays in the under-dash fuse/relay box (A).
2. Connect the connectors to the back side of the under-dash fuse/relay box.
3. Install the under-dash fuse/relay box.
4. Install the covers (B) to the under-dash fuse/relay box.
5. Connect the connectors to the fuse side of the under-dash fuse/relay box.
2. Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box

3. Install the under-dash fuse/relay box.
4. Connect the connectors to the fuse side of the under-dash fuse/relay box.
3. Driver's Dashboard Lower Cover
1. Connect the connector (A), then install the driver's dashboard lower cover (B). Make sure the clips (C) snap into place securely.
4. Driver's Dashboard Panel Assembly
1. Connect the connector (A), then install the driver's dashboard panel assembly (B). Make sure the clips (C) snap into place securely.
5. Driver's Dashboard Undercover
1. Install the driver's dashboard undercover (A). Make sure the clip (B) snap into place securely, and the pin (C) into the holder (D) securely.
2. Turn the lock knob (E) 90 °.
6. Battery Terminal (SRS) - Reconnection
NOTE: If the battery performance is abnormal, test the battery.
1. Clean the battery terminals.
2. Connect the positive cable (A) to the battery.
NOTE: Always connect the positive side first.
3. Connect the negative cable (B) to the battery.
4. Apply multipurpose grease to the terminals to prevent corrosion.
7. HDS DLC - Connection
1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) (A) located under the driver's side of the dashboard.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
3. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle. If it does not communicate, go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting.
8. Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box After Installation Check
1. Select IMMOBI from the SYSTEM SELECTION MENU, then select IMMOBILIZER SET UP.
2. Select REPLACE MPCS/MICU/IMOES, then select the suitable menu from the HDS indications.
3. After registration, confirm that the vehicle will start.
4. Confirm that all system work properly.
