Fuel Tank Unit Disassembly and Reassembly





Disassembly

1. Fuel Gauge Sending Unit





1. Remove the fuel tank unit referring to the fuel tank unit removal and installation procedures Fuel Tank Unit Removal/Installation.

2. Remove the fuel level sensor (fuel gauge sending unit) (A) from the fuel tank unit (B).

NOTE: When removing the fuel gauge sending unit, be careful not to bend or twist it excessively.

2. Fuel Pressure Regulator





1. Remove the reservoir (A).

2. Remove the bracket (B).

3. Remove the fuel pressure regulator (C) and the ring (D).

3. Fuel Pump/Fuel Strainer





1. Remove the fuel pump (A) from the fuel strainer (B).

Reassembly

1. Fuel Pump/Fuel Strainer





1. Install the fuel pump (A) to the fuel strainer (B) with a new O-ring (C).

NOTE:
* Coat the O-ring with clean engine oil; do not use any other type oil and fluids.
* Do not pinch the O-ring during installation.
* Use all new parts supplied in the fuel strainer replacement kit.

2. Fuel Pressure Regulator





1. Install the fuel pressure regulator (A) and the ring (B) with new O-rings (C).

NOTE:
* Coat the O-rings with clean engine oil; do not use any other type oil and fluids.
* Do not pinch the O-rings during installation.
* Use all new parts supplied in the pressure regulator replacement kit.

2. Install the new bracket (D).

3. Install the reservoir (E).

3. Fuel Gauge Sending Unit





1. Install the fuel level sensor (fuel gauge sending unit) (A) to the fuel tank unit.

NOTE: Check these items before installing:
* When installing the fuel gauge sending unit, be careful not to bend or twist it excessively.
* When connecting the wire harness, make sure the connection is secure and the connector (B) is firmly locked into place.

2. Install the fuel tank unit into the fuel tank refer to the fuel tank unit removal and installation procedures Fuel Tank Unit Removal/Installation.
