Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE:
* SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.
* The front passenger's weight sensor is part of the seat rail and must be replaced as an assembly.

1. Battery Terminal (SRS) - Disconnection





1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).

2. Disconnect and isolate the negative cable (A) from the battery.

NOTE: Always disconnect the negative side first.

3. Disconnect the positive cable (B) from the battery.

4. Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt - Passenger's Side





1. Carefully pry up on the bottom of the anchor cover (A) at the pry point (B) with the appropriate trim tool to release the hooks (C) and the tab (D), then remove the cover by pulling it upward.





2. Remove the lower anchor bolt (A).

3. Head Restraint - Passenger's Side





1. Push and hold the knob (A), then pull out the head restraint (B) as shown.

4. Front Seat - Passenger's Side





1. Detach the hooks (A), then remove the rear inner seat track end cover (B) and the rear outer seat track end cover (C).





2. Remove the seat mounting front bolts (A) from the front side of the front seat.





3. Remove the rear mounting bolts (A) from the front seat.

Without Woofer





With Woofer





4. Disconnect the connectors (A).

5. Front Seat Recline Cover - Passenger's Side





1. Remove the recline knob (A).

2. Remove the screw (B), and detach the clip (C).

3. Release the upper hooks (D) of the recline cover (E) from the recline inner cover (F).

4. Release the rear hooks (G) of the recline cover from the recline inner cover.

5. Detach the hook (H) by pulling the recline cover back by hand.

6. Gently pull out the recline cover and remove it.

6. Front Seat Center Cover - Passenger's Side





1. Pull up the center cover (A) to release the tabs (B) from the inner cover (C).

7. Front Seat Cushion - Passenger's Side





1. Release the elastic strap (A) from the seat cushion frame springs (B), then pull back the under cover (C) of the seat-back cover.

With Seat Heater





2. With seat heater: Disconnect the connectors (A).

3. With seat heater: Detach the harness clip (B).

4. With seat heater: Pry up the hook (C) of the harness holders (D), then release them from the seat cushion frame springs (E).





5. Release the hook strips (A) from both sides of the seat cushion frame.

6. Detach the clip (B) from the seat cushion frame.





7. Release the hook strips (A) from under the seat cushion.





8. Remove the seat cushion cover/pad (A) from the seat frame (B).

8. Front Seat Armrest - Passenger's Side





1. Remove the cap (A) with the appropriate trim tool.

2. Remove the center pin (B), the bushing (C), and the washer (D), then remove the armrest (E).





3. Remove the pins (A) from the seat-back.

9. Front Seat-Back - Passenger's Side

With Seat Heater





Without Seat Heater





1. Detach the connector clips (A).

2. Detach the harness clips (B).

3. With seat heater: Pry up the hooks (C) of the harness holders (D), then release them from the seat cushion frame springs (E).

4. Disconnect the connectors (F).





5. Release the hook strip (A).

6. Unzip the seat-back cover (B).





7. Release the hook strips (A), and loosen the seat-back cover (B).





8. Detach the harness clips (A).

9. Pull out the harness (B) through the holes (C) in the seat-back cover (D).





10. Release the airbag attachment wires A, B from the seat-back frame (C).





11. Remove the screw (A), and release the hooks (B), then remove the cover (C) and harness clip (D).





12. Disconnect the connectors (A) and harness clips (B) from the ODS unit (USA and Canada models) or OPDS unit (Mexico models) (C).





13. Release the hook strips (A) from the seat-back frame (B).

14. Detach the harness clips (C).

10. Head Restraint Guide - Passenger's Side





1. Pinch the tabs (A) on the end of the head restraint guides (B), and remove the guides from the seat-back.

11. Front Seat-Back Cover/Pad - Passenger's Side





1. Remove the seat-back cover/pad (A) from the seat-back frame (B).

12. Front Seat Frame - Passenger's Side

Front Side










1. Detach the hook(s) (A) and the clip (B), then remove the front foot covers (C).

Rear Side





2. Detach the hooks (A), then remove the rear raiser covers (B).





3. Remove the hooks (A), then remove the outer recline inner cover (B) and the inner recline inner cover (C).

13. Front Passenger's Seat Rail/Front Passenger's Weight Sensors as an Assembly





1. Remove the seat cushion frame (A).





2. Remove the TORX nuts using a TORX E18 socket, then remove the front passenger's seat rail/front passenger's weight sensors as an assembly (A) .
