Ball Joint Boot Inspection
Removal
1. Vehicle Lift
1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, and make sure it is securely supported.
2. Front Wheel
1. Remove the front wheel.
Inspection
1. Ball Joint Boot - Inspection
1. Check the ball joint boot (A) for weakness, damage, cracks, and grease leaks.
NOTE:
* If the ball joint boot is damaged with grease leaks, replace the appropriate part as an assembly.
* If the ball joint boot is soft and cracked without grease leaks, replace the appropriate ball joint boot.
Installation
1. Front Wheel
1. Install the front wheel.
NOTE: Before installing the wheel, clean the mating surfaces between the brake disc and the inside of the wheel.
