Torque Converter Housing Mainshaft Oil Seal Replacement





Removal

NOTE: The illustration shows AWD/4WD transmission.

1. Mainshaft Oil Seal





1. Remove the mainshaft oil seal (A) using a commercially available oil seal remover.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the torque converter housing and mainshaft when removing the oil seal.

Installation

NOTE: The illustration shows AWD/4WD transmission.

1. Mainshaft Oil Seal





1. Install a new mainshaft oil seal (A) flush with the torque converter housing using oil seal driver C.

NOTE: Do not drive the oil seal into the torque converter housing until it bottoms out; it will block the fluid return passage and cause transmission damage.
