Torque Converter Housing Selector Control Shaft Oil Seal Replacement
Removal
1. Selector Control Lever (Except 2WD of USA Produced Models)
Except 2WD of USA Produced Models
1. Pry down the lock tab (A) of the lock washer (B).
2. Remove the lock bolt (C) and the lock washer.
3. Remove the selector control lever (D).
2. Torque Converter Selector Control Shaft Oil Seal
1. Remove the selector control shaft oil seal (A).
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the selector control shaft and the torque converter housing when removing the oil seal.
Installation
1. Torque Converter Selector Control Shaft Oil Seal
1. Install a new selector control shaft oil seal (A) to a depth (B) of 0.5-1.5 mm (0.020-0.059 in) below the torque converter housing surface using the 22 x 24 mm attachment.
2. Selector Control Lever (Except 2WD of USA Produced Models)
Except 2WD of USA Produced Models
1. Install the control lever (A) over the selector control shaft (B).
2. Install the lock bolt (C) using a new lock washer (D).
3. Pry up the lock tab (E) of the lock washer against the bolt head.
