DTC Troubleshooting: P065A

DTC P065A : ACG No Charging Malfunction

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information How to Troubleshoot the Fuel And Emissions Systems.

1. DTC check:

-1. Clear the DTC with the HDS. How to Troubleshoot the Fuel And Emissions Systems

-2. Start the engine, and let it idle 1 minute.

-3. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P0562 indicated?
-YES- Do the DTC P0562 troubleshooting DTC Troubleshooting.
-NO- Go to step 2.

2. Problem verification:

-1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P065A indicated?
-YES- Go to step 3.
-NO- Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check the alternator and the drive belt.

3. Drive belt check:

-1. Inspect the drive belt Testing and Inspection.

Is the drive belt OK?
-YES- Repair or replace the alternator Overhaul.
-NO- Replace the drive belt Service and Repair.
