HFL (HFT) System Issues

SYMPTOM

When using HandsFreeLink (HFL), one or more of the following problems occur:

^ The Voice Tag may be distorted, or crackles during playback.

^ The phone randomly disconnects and reconnects.

^ With iPhones, the volume decreases on its own.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Update the HFL control unit software.

HDS Software Version: 3.006.005 or later
HFL Application Version: 1.6.0.0 or later

HFL Control Unit Software (on vehicle)
HFL Software Version: 01.05.000

NOTE:

To avoid an incorrect repair that would not be covered under warranty, use the software versions listed above or later versions.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Update the HFL control unit software. Refer to Service Bulletin 12-070, Updating Programmable HFL (HFT) Control Units.
