Hood Adjustment
Removal
1. Wiper Arm Assembly
NOTE: Set the wiper arms to the auto-stop position before removal.
1. Remove the cowl top wiper covers (A).
2. Remove the wiper arms (B).
2. Both Side Cowl Covers
1. Remove the side cowl cover (A).
2. The left side is shown; repeat on the right side.
3. Center Cowl Cover
1. Remove the center cowl cover (A).
2. Disconnect the windshield washer tube (B).
3. If necessary, remove the hood rear seal (C).
Adjustment
1. Hood - Adjustment
1. Slightly loosen the hood hinge mounting bolts (A) and the hood latch mounting bolts (B).
2. Adjust the hood (C) alignment in the following sequence:
* Adjust the hood right and left, as well as forward and rearward, by using the elongated holes in the hood hinges (D).
* Turn the hood edge cushions (E), in or out as necessary, to make the hood fit flush with the body at the front and side edges.
3. Adjust the hood latch (F) to obtain the proper height at the forward edge, and move the hood latch right or left until the striker (G) is centered in the hood latch.
4. Tighten each bolt to the specified torque.
5. Make sure the hood opens properly and locks securely.
6. Apply touch-up paint to the hinge mounting bolts and around the hinges, and let the paint dry.
7. Apply multipurpose grease to the hood latch and the hood hinges as indicated by the arrows.
Installation
1. Center Cowl Cover
1. If necessary, install the hood rear seal (A).
2. Connect the windshield washer tube (B).
3. Install the center cowl cover (C).
2. Both Side Cowl Covers
1. Install the side cowl cover (A).
2. The left side is shown; repeat on the right side.
3. Wiper Arm Assembly
NOTE: Set the wiper arms to the auto-stop position before installation.
1. Install the wiper arms (A).
2. Install the cowl top wiper covers (B).
