DTC Troubleshooting: B1075

DTC B1075:

Headlight Switch Back-Up Circuit Malfunction

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).

3. Turn the headlight switch from the OFF position to ON position.

4. Wait for at least 6 seconds.

5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1075 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 6.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between relay control module connector B (16P) and driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector F (32P).

6. Turn the headlight switch OFF.

7. Select LIGHTING MODE MENU from the HDS, and enter the DATA LIST.

8. Check the ON/OFF information of the HEADLIGHT SWITCH (BACK-UP) in the DATA LIST.

Is the information indicator OFF?

YES -

Go to step 9.

NO -

Go to step 16.

9. Turn the headlight switch ON.

10. Check the ON/OFF information of the HEADLIGHT (BACK-UP) in the DATA LIST.

Is the information indicator ON?

YES -

Replace the relay control module Under-Hood Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation.

NO -

Go to step 11.

11. Connect relay control module connector B (16P) terminal No. 14 and body ground with a jumper wire.






12. Check the ON/OFF information of the HEADLIGHT SWITCH (BACK-UP) in the DATA LIST.

Is the information indicator ON?

YES -

Go to step 13.

NO -

Replace the relay control module Under-Hood Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation.

13. Remove the jumper wire.

14. Connect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector F (32P) terminal No. 14 and body ground with a jumper wire.






15. Check the ON/OFF information of the HEADLIGHT SWITCH (BACK-UP) in the DATA LIST.

Is the information indicator ON?

YES -

Replace the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, USA models Drivers Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box (Drivers MICU) Removal And Installation (USA Model), Canada models Drivers Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box (Drivers MICU) Removal And Installation (Canada Model).

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and relay control module.

16. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

17. Disconnect relay control module connector B (16P).

18. Check for continuity between relay control module connector B (16P) terminal No. 14 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 19.

NO -

Replace the relay control module Under-Hood Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation.

19. Disconnect the combination light switch 12P connector.

20. Check for continuity between relay control module connector B (16P) terminal No. 14 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 21.

NO -

Replace the combination light switch Service and Repair.

21. Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P).

22. Check for continuity between relay control module connector B (16P) terminal No. 14 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 23.

NO -

Repair a short to ground in the wire between the combination switch and driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.

23. Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector F (32P).

24. Check for continuity between relay control module connector B (16P) terminal No. 14 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to ground in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and under-hood fuse/relay box.

NO -

Replace the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, USA models Drivers Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box (Drivers MICU) Removal And Installation (USA Model), Canada models Drivers Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box (Drivers MICU) Removal And Installation (Canada Model).
