DTC Troubleshooting: B2036
DTC B2036:
Left Power Sliding Door Full Latch Switch Circuit Short
NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
3. Turn the power sliding door main switch ON.
4. Close the left power sliding door.
5. Open the left power sliding door with the power sliding door switch.
6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B2036 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 7.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the left power sliding door control unit and the left power sliding door rear latch.
7. With the door open, select POWER SLIDING DOOR from the HDS, and enter the DATA LIST.
8. Check the ON/OFF information of the LEFT POWER SLIDE DOOR FULL LATCH SWITCH in the DATA LIST.
Is the information indicator OFF?
YES -
Replace the left power sliding door control unit Service and Repair.
NO -
Go to step 9.
9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
10. Disconnect left power sliding door rear latch connector B (6P).
11. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
12. Check the ON/OFF information of the LEFT POWER SLIDE DOOR FULL LATCH SWITCH in the DATA LIST.
Is the information indicator OFF?
YES -
Faulty left full latch switch; replace the left power sliding door rear latch Sliding Door Rear Latch Replacement.
NO -
Go to step 13.
13. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
14. Disconnect left power sliding door control unit connector A (12P).
15. Check for continuity between left power sliding door control unit connector A (12P) terminal No. 5 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to ground in the wire.
NO -
Replace the left power sliding door control unit Service and Repair.
